FATAL MARSABIT-MOYALE HIGHWAY ACCIDENT

NUMBER OF THOSE perished in a road accident along Marsabit-Moyale highway Rises to two.               The number of people who perished as a result of a road accident yesterday in Dub Goba-locations of Sagante near the jirime hotel, in Marsabit has reached 2, while 10 others continue to receive treatment in various hospitals in the country. those who lost their lives are all students, the late Amina Abdi Sali Sama and the late John. Confirming the deaths earlier today, the chief doctor at the hospital in Marsabit county, Doctor John Zia has said that the second casualty by name Sali John died on the way as he was being rushed for treatment to the Kenyatta main hospital. Doctor Zia said that currently casualties who had received serious injuries continue to receive treatment in various hospitals in the nation. One injured is being treated at the Kenyatta main hospital, while another injured is being treated at kijabe hospital and 2 others receive treatment in Meru. These victims suffered serious injuries like fracture in their bodies , as well as serious injuries to the head. Furthermore doctor Zia has said that 6 others who received minor injuries are treated in hospitals of the Marsabit county. Among these are 3 men and 3 women. Women are reported to have genital trauma in their bones (pelvic). Doctor Mazie has said that those involved in the accident were 12, not 13 as it was earlier reported by some county officials yesterday. The accident involved a car Landrover form of the Anglican-ACK here in Marsabit that had departed from wedding ceremonies, Sagante area. Deputy Commissioner of this region, Kipchumba Rutto has also confirmed the incident, while warning drivers and operators of road to be careful. According to the police officers led by police ocpd at the police station in Marsabit, Charles Mwangi,indicates the the car was being driven at a very high speed before the driver steps on brakes suddenly that subsequently leading to rolling several times. Officer in the health department in the county government, Elema Dido said that currently the conditions of those injured have improved. He said that the Ambulance vehicles which were bought by the government have proved to be more helpful,as they are used to transport the critically injured to several hospitals within the nation. In addition various officials have been pouring in Marsabit hospital, to offer condolences to the family, siblings, relatives and friends of those who lost their loved ones. Among these leaders are, the deputy governor of this county, Omar Abdi Ali, several officials of the county government, religious leaders, as well as several representatives of the wards
